Day Five: Book Review

 Blog Everyday in February

Day five in the February blog every day challenge is a book or movie review. I chose to review a book because I read a lot more books than I do watch movies. Now I haven't read many books lately but I read a ton last year. I'm going to review How Zoe Made Her Dreams (Mostly) Come True by Sarah Strohmeyer because I really liked it and it's not a very popular book.

"From Sarah Strohmeyer, author of Smart Girls Get What They Want, comes this romantic comedy about one girl's summer job from hell. Think The Devil Wears Prada set in Disney World.

When cousins Zoe and Jess land summer internships at the Fairyland Kingdom theme park, they are sure they've hit the jackpot. With perks like hot Abercrombie-like Prince Charmings and a chance to win the coveted $25,000 Dream & Do grant, what more could a girl want?

Once Zoe arrives, however, she's assigned to serve "The Queen"-Fairyland's boss from hell. From spoon-feeding her evil lapdog caviar, to fetching midnight sleeping tonics, Zoe fears she might not have what it takes to survive the summer, much less win the money.

Soon backstabbing interns, a runaway Cinderella, and cutthroat competition make Zoe's job more like a nightmare than a fairy tale. What will happen when Zoe is forced to choose between serving The Queen and saving the prince of her dreams?"

---------------------

How Zoe Made Her Dreams (Almost) Come True is great book for anyone who wants a light, fun read. You'll love the book if you like fairy tale spin off type things or Disney. The book has some mystery behind it along with a little romance. While reading I was able to be image myself there with them. I was able to picture the scenes and people something I am not able to do very often.

I think I fell in love with the book because I have a little bit of a Disney and fairy tale obsession. I loved how they portrayed the amusement park. Part of me wishes it was really a park because I would love to go to it!

There is the clique part of a summer romance but it's not too bad. The other parts of the story, the mystery, and the mean boss, out weigh that. Plus I like a little romance!

The book teaches some lessons and is very encouraging. Zoe, the main character, lost her mom and work so hard to get to the amusement park so she can get the scholarship. She is also a very selfless person because she cares about her cousin and wants her cousin to receive the scholarship even though she needs it just as much.

Overall this book is a nice read with a great story plot. I recommend it for pretty much everyone. You can't be too old or too young for this book.
